Hello friend blogger welcome back to my blog that hopefully useful for you guys to read. Alright guys today we continue the material that is to make the layer legit. The legit layer developed during the Dutch colonial period in Indonesia. Initially, the original name of the cake Spekkoek was brought by the Dutch people to Indonesia.


The cake was then influenced by local residents. Indonesians modify it by using local ingredients including adding spices that are adjusted to their tongues. As its development, this cake is better known as Lapis legit because this cake has many layers with a very sweet taste.


Among Chinese people, the legit layer has a deeply rooted history. Lapis legit becomes a mandatory dish at Chinese New Year celebrations. They believe that the more layers there are in the cake, the more fortune will be obtained





Legalized layers generally have 18 or more layers. This cake is made from egg yolks, butter, flour, and sugar. The egg yolk used is generally taken from 30 or more whole eggs. The pan used is usually square in size 18 cm x 18 cm or 20 cm x 20 cm. The ovens used are gas ovens or electric ovens.


One layer of legit layer is made by pouring a little dough into a baking sheet, then the baking sheet is put into the oven and baked with the center of the fire that is on top until golden. The pan is then removed and the process is repeated until the dough has run out.

In Indonesia, there are many types of legit layers, such as maksuba, pontianak legit layers, bangka legit layers, Lampung Lampung legit layers, and legit rolls layers with variations in the vile taste of cheddar, prun fruit, pandanus, or chocolate.


The taste of pandanus and chocolate on the legit layer is usually obtained by mixing cake paste. Some legit layers are made without adding spices and flour. Some legit layers are also made by adding lots of butter and milk.











In Dutch, the word spekkoek literally means pork cake. Pork cake is named because the layers formed on this cake are similar to pork fat. The name of this cake in Indonesian is the legit layer where the word legit means sweet.

Leg layer cakes are best suited for snacks accompanied by warm fresh tea. Because there will be a mixture of flavors between sweet and bitter so that it is balanced. The recipe that I use is more or less like in the picture below guys. That's all from me, Thank you
